Me and Avon are believers in Christ and are saved and love the Lord! We met in 2010 and married in 2011. We married a little after 6 months of dating before marriage (courting me). Right at the time of us meeting I was in a previous relationship for the past 5 years. It’s still funny how it all happened and you’re only getting my perspective of the true way in how this relationship manifested -_-.

It all started because I assisted the youth choir where I fellowshipped as the youth director and Avon played the organ. We agreed to meet to discuss songs and the direction for the youth choir. The meeting was scheduled for 3pm, but somehow it got pushed back to 7pm, evening hours, ugh. I was purposefully not trying to make this meeting look like a date, but it did. I definitely was annoyed, but opted not to show it, so I kept it professional and cute. We met at the Ruby Tuesday and we were able to get dinner. He was a gentleman and took care of my meal, which I appreciated (especially because I was going to pay and wanted to be Frugal Franny and pay lunch time prices, lol). I found that he was very seasoned in dealing with choirs and we were able to come to a resolution fairly quickly on next steps.

Then, the dinner took a turn, I started to welcome conversation and open up a bit. Laughter and jokes started flowing. If anybody knows my hubby, he can have you in stitches. I truly started enjoying the conversation as we began speaking on our beliefs, to what we enjoyed, to what we could see in a spouse, to the point that we shut down Ruby Tuesday’s.

Still laughing and joking we go to my car and it just happens… we kissed. Immediately I knew what I had to do. The very next day, I ended that relationship that I knew was not going anywhere. Avon and I continued talking, to becoming instant friends, to then best friends, to then husband and wife, and then to daddy and mommy. Now 15 kids later… LOL… naw, 4 boys later we are here sharing our story because God is good and we are HIS❤️
